PLC programmer / automation engineer
Join ETRA's automation team to develop PLC applications, work with modern technologies and solve practical engineering challenges.
At ETRA, we develop and build automated production systems, robotic cells and custom-engineered solutions for a range of industries. We are inviting a new colleague to join our automation team – someone who enjoys PLC programming, modern technologies and tackling real technical challenges.
What do we do?
No two projects here are exactly alike. We develop complex, technologically advanced, custom-engineered solutions that combine automation, robotics and modern digital technologies.
Our projects include:
- Advanced robotic systems – from conventional industrial and SCARA robots to collaborative robotics.
- Machine vision systems and automated inspection cells – for demanding industrial applications.
- Connecting IT and OT – integrating production systems, data and digital solutions.
- Diverse industrial challenges – across manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, energy and the defence sector.
What will you do?
- Develop and programme PLC applications, primarily using Siemens systems.
- Contribute to programming and commissioning automated lines, machines and robotic cells.
- Develop and configure HMI/SCADA solutions.
- Test system operation, troubleshoot faults and optimise software solutions.
- Work with electrical, mechanical and other engineers to develop complete solutions.
- Take part in projects from initial concept and development through to final system commissioning.
Who are we looking for?
Someone who is genuinely interested in automation. Technical thinking, curiosity and the ability to find solutions matter to us.
We would welcome:
- Knowledge of, or experience in, programming PLC controllers.
- Familiarity with Siemens SIMATIC / TIA Portal.
- Familiarity with HMI, SCADA or robotic systems.
- A qualification in electrical engineering, automation, mechatronics or a related technical field.
- English-language proficiency.
- Independence, responsibility and enjoyment of teamwork.
Don't have all the experience yet?
If you have a sound technical foundation, are interested in automation and want to develop your skills, we still encourage you to get in touch. Expertise also develops through practical projects.
What do we offer?
Work on varied, technically demanding projects, where we do not take off-the-shelf solutions but develop systems around customers' actual requirements.
You will have the opportunity to contribute throughout the entire project life cycle, develop new technical expertise and work alongside experienced colleagues in automation, robotics, electrical engineering and machine building.
Alongside interesting challenges, we also offer:
- A permanent employment contract with a six-month probationary period.
- Competitive remuneration.
- Opportunities for further professional training and development.
- Free parking.
- Excellent coffee and tasty lunches.
