#STEMfluencerke: Heroines opening the doors to the future 🚀

Yesterday's meeting at the company Etra d.o.o. took place within the campaign #STEMfluencerke, co-financed by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities. The event was intended for eighth-grade, ninth-grade and secondary-school girls who are about to decide on their further education and professional future.
🌍There are no female or male professions – only abilities and opportunities
On the company premises the girls learned how a modern Slovenian company works, one that has been developing smart solutions in robotics, automation and digitalisation for more than thirty years. They toured the production lines and the development and testing areas, and saw how people and robots work together in everyday tasks – from design to precise movements in production.
The main message of the meeting is clear: ability, knowledge and curiosity have no gender. What matters is that everyone has the same opportunity to develop and realise them.
💡Inspiration from practice
Their profession and work were presented by Mojca Golež ((graduate mathematician, head of IT and development projects, member of the management board of ETRA d.o.o. and director of the C-TCS institute) and dr. Brigita Gajšek, who prove that women are indispensable in the world of technology. With their energy and expertise they showed the girls how creative work in the industry of the future can be.
Dr. Lucija Kolar, founder of Complementarium, the institute for nature research and the development of environmental technologies, used her personal story to impress upon the girls that the stars are within reach – and that they should be bold, curious and courageous as they walk their own path.
✨Encouragement for the road ahead
At the end we told the young participants: knowledge is what distinguishes you – build your name also for the girls who come after you, and be proud of every one of your titles – MSc, PhD, friend, aunt, mother, daughter …
Sincere thanks to dr. Lucija Kolar for connecting people and organising the event, and to Mojca Golež and dr. Brigita Gajšek for the inspiring presentation of the company and of their work.
The exhibition of the STEMfluencerke – Heroines opening the doors to the future campaign can be seen until the end of the month at Tehno park Celje.
From the posters you will be addressed by scientists, engineers, programmers and researchers who push the boundaries of knowledge every day and prove that STEM is a place for girls too – and that there is room in it for creativity, courage and inspiration.
The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities.
